Gettysburg Roll of Honor - Killed, Wounded and Missing at Gettysburg

 

 Company K of the 5th Michigan did not leave Gettysburg unscathed. This year, thanks to the book "Union Casualties at Gettysburg" by Travis and John Busey, we are proud to give this roll of honor from our ancestors.

Private John Dover - buried at Gettysburg National Cemetery

Mortally Wounded

Private John Garrett Folkes - wounded in the right leg. The leg was amputated but he didn't recover. He died in hospital in September, 1863 and is now buried at Gettysburg.

1st Lieutenant John M. Stevens

1st Sergeant Peter Boffinger - Severely wounded in the head. From Bay City.

Sergeant Herman Fellman - Severely wounded in the back.

Sergeant Frederick B. Herbst -

Sergeant Charles Jacob Switzler - severely wounded in chest and hand.

Corporal William Budde - wounded in the neck

Private George Shultz - wounded in the hand

Private John Vallmuth - wounded in the hand
